I have some really fond memories of the 1988 Dodger Season. An April game against the Giants was rained out, and immediately was rescheduled to be played as part of a doubleheader on Tuesday, July 23 at Candlestick Park. So some friends and I planned ahead to travel three hours to go to this evening double header between two rivals in San Francisco.
I never understood the reasoning, but the first game of the double header was scheduled for 5:00 PM. Yep, 5:00 in the afternoon. After the future Cy Young Orel Hershiser's Game One 7-3 victory, the nightcap began at about 9:10 PM.
