Matt Kemp is a legend in the making. Yesterday afternoon Matt Kemp accomplished something that only 287 players had ever reached. On his first at-bat Kemp rocketed his 21st home run of the season to record his 1,000th career RBI. Best yet, he did this on his 34th birthday. Happy Birthday, Beast Mode! Per Ken Gurnick at MLB.com:
At one point, Kemp was serenaded by fans in right field with a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday."
"Dodgers fans always been good on birthdays, especially now, there's more and more fans and they get louder and louder," Kemp said.
