After 12 years in the organization, Scott Van Slyke departed the Dodgers in 2017.

Van Slyke made the Dodgers opening day roster for a fourth consecutive season.

But after a 4-for-31 (.129) April he was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Van Slyke made it back to the majors two more times in 2017 — in May and in July — and played in a total of 29 games, starting five games at first base and twice in left field.
