The MLB trade deadline on July 31st is rapidly approaching, and the trade rumors around the Los Angeles Dodgers starting to heat up. The Dodgers are 51-40, good for the top wild card spot in the NL. But the Dodgers' roster isn't perfect and they've been linked to a few potential moves. They already made one, swinging a trade for Bud Norris. With that in mind, here all the latest Dodgers trade rumors below.
Dodgers Open To Dealing Puig?
The Dodgers are dealing with injuries in the outfield, but there's going to be a log-jam at the position shortly. Howie Kendrick, Yasiel Puig, Scott Van Slyke and Trayce Thompson are the current OFs, with Andre Either and Joc Pederson set to return from the disable list in the near future. As a result, Ken Rosenthal reports the Dodgers could trade Puig. Although Rosenthal doesn't name any potentially interested teams, there will be interest in the 25-year-old. He could even bring back some pitching help the Dodgers are a looking at.
Los Angeles Looking At Rich Hill?
One of the most rumored names on the trade block is lefty Rich Hill. The Oakland Athletics starter is drawing plenty of interest, with the Dodgers among those interested, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Also in the market for starters and believed to have interest in Hill: the Dodgers, who have a good farm system, could be a nice match and had a scout on hand Thursday.
Hill is 36, but pitching well and on a cheap contract. He'll draw plenty of interest and could end up being the subject of a bidding war.
When Will Clayton Kershaw Return?
Here's the good news: Clayton Kershaw threw off a mound Sunday. It's the first time he'd done that since going on the DL two weeks ago. The bad news is Kershaw won't start the first five games once the season picks up up after the All-Star break. Instead, manager Dave Roberts announced that Bud Norris, Brandon McCarthy, Kenta Maeda, Scott Kazmir and Hyun-Jin Ryu would get the starts. It's unclear when Kershaw will return, although MLB.com speculates he could be back for the Dodgers' homestand that starts July 26th.
