The Los Angeles Dodgers announced they have placed star pitcher Yu Darvish on the 10-day disabled list. Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports that Darvish is experiencing lower back tightness.

it’s important for us to feel that he’s 100 percent. To err on the side of caution with an injury that’s relatively minor still makes sense"— Bill Plunkett (@billplunkettocr) August 19, 2017
Translation -- He's fine. #Dodgers are 52 games over .500. August starts don't matter. October starts do.— Bill Plunkett (@billplunkettocr) August 19, 2017
Darvish issued the following statement on his trip to the DL.

He left his start on Wednesday with back trouble and Los Angeles clearly does not want to take any chances with their prized trade deadline acquisition. They have virtually already clinched a playoff spot with a 19-game lead in the NL West.
Ace Clayton Kershaw is also dealing with a back injury, and the Dodgers have been cautious with his recovery as well.
Darvish has started three games since being traded to the Dodgers, allowing five runs while striking out 22 and walking four in 18 innings of work.Back to the Los Angeles Dodgers Newsfeed
