BREAKING: Dodgers Acquire Yu Darvish In Last-Minute Trade With Rangers

In a last-minute trade that barely made the deadline, the Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired Yu Darvish from the Texas Rangers, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

The Dodgers emerged as the the favorite to land Darvish earlier in the day and ultimately were able to get a deal done. Several other teams, including the Cleveland Indians and Houston Astros, also tried to acquire Darvish today.

Darvish is set to be a free agent after the season, and as such, the Rangers were motivated to move him. However, they expect to be able to re-sign him on the open market this offseason, which had teams hesitant about sending top prospects to Texas for him.

Darvish is 6-9 with a 4.01 ERA and 148 strikeouts in 22 starts this season.

Los Angeles also acquired Tony Watson from the Pittsburgh Pirates before the deadline.
