Dodgers Trade Update: Dodgers "unlikely" to trade for top pitcher

In this Dodgers rumors and news update, the Los Angeles Dodgers will most likely remain in the background as the trade market heats up for top pitchers such as Tampa Bay Rays ace David Price.

According to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times, Dodgers management is keeping their eyes to the future when it comes to potential deals before July 31st:

General Manager Ned Colletti intimated Saturday the Dodgers are unlikely to acquire a frontline pitcher such as David Price or Cole Hamels before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline…

..Colletti said any deal for a top-tier player would require the Dodgers to trade prospects, adding, “probably more so than yours truly would like to part with at this particular time.”

The Los Angeles Lakers aren't in desperate need of big-time rotation help to begin with at this juncture. Therefore, they might be content in scouring the back end of the trade market for low-risk, high-reward deals.
