SACRAMENTO – Jamie Foxx had courtside seats Wednesday night in Sacramento to watch something from the Hollywood playbook act itself out on the Clippers bench.
Actors often play a balancing act when it comes to picking roles. Choosing that blockbuster summer action movie might not be artistically gratifying, but it’s expected to fatten a bank account.
But when money’s not an issue, when it’s about something bigger, actors will sign on for an arthouse film.
In a sense, that’s what new Clipper Josh Smith was faced with this summer. Instead of making a cash grab in free agency, he took less so he could join a project he believed in.
