For an extended period, likely around the time some fans developed a love for the LA Clippers, the double-big lineup has not been employed. This goes all the way back to Blake Griffin’s days in Lob City, yet after he left, the Clippers have not had this tool in their toolbox.
Conversely, LA has John Collins, who can rebound just as well at a similar height, allowing the Clippers to return to a lineup that uses a traditional power forward, rather than Kawhi Leonard or Paul George, as Tyronn Lue has done.
Additionally, Lue can quite literally toss Collins into any lineup, double-big or not, and not have to look over his shoulder to check his performance if failure transpires.
