1,500 Polish fans showed up at Staples Center yesterday to see Marcin Gortat, and celebrate Polish Heritage Night.
To put that into perspective, Staples Center seats 19,068 at Clipper games, so the Polish fans took up roughly 8% of the maximum capacity arena. Much like many other themed nights, the entire game had Polish elements. There was a Polish anthem singer, halftime show, custom made t-shirts for the crowd, and a giveaway.
The biggest difference though, is that the President of Poland spoke on the giant screen to fans during halftime. That wasn’t a typo, the actual President of Poland addressed the Clipper crowd.
