While SD Fleet prepares to draft a QB, Rivers plays on

Cut me slack here for placing the NFL and the Alliance of American Football in the same universe — but San Diego and professional quarterbacks were in the news Wednesday.

The San Diego Fleet, it was announced, received the top slot in the “quarterback draft” the eight-member AAF will stage Nov. 27 in Vegas.

So, there’s time for Ryan Leaf to make a comeback (that sound you just heard was the San Antonio Commanders head coach, Mike Riley, fainting and thudding).

Meantime, up in Orange County, the San Diegan who’s quarterbacked his NFL club since 2006 spoke to his career longevity.
