The Los Angeles Chargers announced on Monday that quarterback Philip Rivers, whom they traded for in the 2004 NFL Draft and have seen start for them for every game over the last 14 years, is going to enter free agency. At this point, it seems as though the two sides are content to part ways 16 years after that draft.
It is a monumental moment for the organization and signals their biggest shift since moving to Los Angeles in 2017. Rivers is likely going to be a popular target due to his experience and the play that brought him to eight career Pro Bowls.
