Sunday’s Sermon: Don’t Take Philip Rivers For Granted

This past Sunday, #17 became the 17th man in NFL history to throw for 500 yards, which is a very prestigious club, including four Hall of Famers – Dan Marino, Warren Moon, Y.A. Tittle, & Norm Van Brocklin. Philip Rivers. Although Philip Rivers joins seven of those members in losing the game, he – in true San Diego Charger fashion I might add –became the first of those to lose while not throwing an interception.

Setting franchise records with 503 passing yards, 43 completions (tied for second in NFL history, two shy of Drew Bledsoe’s record of 45) and 65 attempts, still wasn’t enough, but it was a reminder to the rest of the league that Rivers is an ELITE quarterback.
