SAN DIEGO -- In what the team hopes will provide a much-needed boost to their campaign, San Diego mayor Kevin Faulconer has officially endorsed the Chargers $1.8 billion plan to build a new stadium and convention center expansion in downtown San Diego.
The news was first reported by The San Diego Union-Tribune.
"This is about working toward common goals that will get solutions for the public good," Faulconer told The Union-Tribune.
Unveiled in April, Faulconer said it took so long for him to make a decision because of his office's ongoing negotiations with the Chargers, unwilling to leave several questions unanswered.
