No easy answer to Chargers' injury rash

By some measures, the Chargers were due.

As the occurrence of Achilles injuries in the NFL has seemed to rise in recent years, before last month, the Chargers had no such tendons ruptured since coach Mike McCoy and General Manager Tom Telesco arrived in 2013. Other members of the organization had trouble Tuesday recalling a Charger with an Achilles tear since linebacker Donald Butler went down in 2010 as a rookie during training camp.

Two team officials cited just one player, center Doug Legursky in 2014, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament the past two seasons.
