NFL could force teams to forfeit if postponed games cannot be scheduled due to COVID-19 outbreaks

On Thursday, the NFL sent out a memo to all teams informing, in great detail, exactly what they plan to do to incentivize players to get vaccinated ahead of the upcoming season. One of the biggest details within the jam-packed memo was that the NFL may be forced to hand teams losses that affect postseason standings should they have games cancelled due to an outbreak within their organization.

The NFL just informed clubs that if a game cannot be rescheduled during the 18-week season in 2021 due to a COVID outbreak among unvaccinated players, the team with the outbreak will FORFEIT and be credited with a loss for playoff seeding, per sources.
