Early Wednesday morning, Ian Rapaport and Adam Schefter both reported that Melvin gordon and his camp have informed the team that he will not report to training with the rest of the team on today.
Melvin Gordon, seeking a new contract, informed the Chargers early this morning that he will not report to training camp when the rest of the team reports today, per source familiar with those talks.

As things stand, the Chargers are in no position to rush a deal and will look to open training camp with Austin Ekeler, Justin Jackson, and Detrez Newsome as the team’s top running backs.
