LaDainian Tomlinson: An Epic and Misunderstood Hall of Fame Career

LaDainian Tomlinson, who on Sunday will have his number retired by the San Diego Chargers, is the fifth-leading rusher in NFL history. Only two players—Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith—have scored more touchdowns, and Tomlinson remains the only player in professional football history to find the end zone more than 30 times in a single season.

The former Chargers and New York Jets running back was a two-time rushing leader, a three-time first-team All-Pro, a five-time Pro Bowler and the league's MVP in 2006. He's a member of the NFL's 2000s All-Decade Team and is expected to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer in 2017.
