Philip Rivers’ time as quarterback of the Los Angeles Chargers has officially come to a close. The team has announced they have mutually parted ways with Rivers, letting him become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
While it is ultimately a sad day for Chargers fans everywhere, the move no doubt raises plenty of questions for a franchise still waiting for its first Lombardi trophy. One question that may come to mind is, how will the team’s leading receivers produce this upcoming season with a new quarterback at the helm?
While many may have grown tired of Rivers’ decision making, it may have been to the benefit of his receivers at times, and they themselves may come to miss that gunslinger personality that Rivers brought onto the field week in and week out.
