Jeff Cumberland never actually played for the Chargers. After signing with the team on April 4th, and expecting to battle for the team’s #2 Tight End position behind Antonio Gates (before the team drafted Hunter Henry), all Cumberland was able to do with the Chargers was play a bit in a couple of preseason games before suffering an Achilles injury that would keep him out the rest of the year.
