Corey Liuget's back injury could open door for Jerry Attaochu's debut

COSTA MESA, Calif. -- A limited participant on Wednesday, Los Angeles Chargers defensive tackle Corey Liuget missed practice on Thursday due to a sore back, leaving open the possibility that he could miss his first game of the season.

“He’s very limited,” Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said. “He did some things inside.”

Liuget has been an impact player for the Chargers so far this year, but his replacement, Darius Philon, also has played well in limited duty, with two sacks and 14 combined tackles.

The possibility of Liuget not playing on Sunday could lead to the 2017 debut of defensive end Jerry Attaochu.
