David Glanzer, chief of communications for Comic-Con International, wrote in this opinion piece for the San Diego Union-Tribune that while his organization strongly believes a contiguous expansion of the convention center is the best solution, any expansion of the convention center is desired because of the value a new facility will bring to the city.
Hoteliers and convention center supporters have pointed to the needs of the massive, annual Comic-Con convention as one of the main reasons for the contiguous expansion of the convention center, with the desire to keep all of the exhibits in one space.
