Column: Raiders trade gone bad is familiar good luck for Philip Rivers

Just three days before the season opener, the Oakland Raiders and their best receiver are headed either to divorce or a messy truce.

In other words, more Raiders drama.

There’s a human element here. The receiver, Antonio Brown, is acting oddly. He’s jeopardizing $30 million in future pay by missing practices and posting team letters on social media. In front of teammates he quarreled with Raiders General Manager Mike Mayock, reports ESPN.

Former Chargers quarteback Ryan Leaf, whose antics masked ill mental health, suggested Thursday that Brown wants out of football.

Whatever is happening here, it’s hoped that Brown, 31, can put his health first.
