It would be one thing if there were no injuries, if the Chargers were as healthy at the wide-receiver position as could be. Maybe reality would be more palpable then for wide receivers Isaiah Burse and Dom Williams, who find themselves on the practice squad halfway into the season despite months of work with the team.
Such is not the case.
They’ve seen opportunity come and go since September.
A week after Keenan Allen was lost for the season, the Chargers signed Griff Whalen, a free agent. Burse was waived the next day.
