Chargers place Green, Groy on injured reserve

On Thursday morning, the Chargers announced that a player had tested positive for the coronavirus late last night. Eventually it became known that the player was offensive guard Ryan Groy. Due to the news, Anthony Lynn sent all of the players home in an attempt to be as safe as possible and to give everyone some “peace of mind.”

Following the team’s Zoom call, it was then announced that tight end Virgil Green and Ryan Groy would be placed on injured reserve, as well as the COVID-19 list.

When Groy missed some snaps against the Jaguars on Sunday, third-year lineman Scott Quessenberry stepped in and played a season-high nine snaps.
