SAN DIEGO -- Melvin Gordon tried his best, but could not convince the San Diego Chargers that he’s healthy enough to play Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Gordon did not practice Friday and has been ruled out for Sunday's game with a hip strain and knee sprain. He will finish the season three rushing yards short of 1,000.
Chargers head coach Mike McCoy said he and general manager Tom Telesco delivered the news to a disappointed Gordon before practice Friday.
