Although the team certainly missed Denzel Perryman against the Houston Texans, his suspension was not the reason they lost. The integral veteran will now get a chance to rest up before their playoff run.
Denzel Perryman, the Los Angeles Chargers' veteran, run-fitting linebacker, was suspended two games for "repeated violations of playing rules intended to protect the health and safety of players" after a helmet-to-helmet hit he delivered in the team's matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
At the time, this seemed to represent a major blow as the Chargers entered a stretch that could have earned them the AFC West title.
