The Chargers surprised the NFL world when they announced the release of veteran defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day just one day before they were set to play the Bills in primetime this past Saturday. Joseph-Day was one of Brandon Staley’s bigger free-agent signings ahead of the 2022 season and had started all 30 games he had played in while in powder blue.
In the end, it came down to the Chargers doing Joseph-Day a favor by releasing him before season’s end to give him the chance to finish the year on a high note elsewhere.
