Chargers cut ties with defensive back Trevor Williams

The team decided to release the injured cornerback on Monday, showing that it is likely fed up with the fact that he couldn’t get on the field after dealing with multiple injuries.

The move also shows faith in two other young players, Michael Davis and Brandon Facyson. The Chargers waited and waited for Williams to be able to get back on the field

Undrafted out of Penn State in 2016, Williams was called upon to fill in for the injured Jason Verrett in 2017 and put a terrific season together. That year, he amassed 56 tackles while having 13 pass deflections and two interceptions.
