Chargers could take a flyer on developmental German receiver

Good morning.

NFL Nation Seahawks beat writer Sheil Kapadia takes a closer look at German receiver prospect Moritz Boehringer.

He attracted the attention of NFL scouts by running between 4.38 and 4.45 seconds in the 40-yard dash at 6-4 and 227 pounds. However, Boehringer never played college football and just one year in a football league in Germany.

My take: The Chargers are in need of receiver depth. As a big receiver, Boehringer could be worth a flyer as an undrafted rookie free agent for the Chargers, who could place him on the practice squad while he learns the game.
