Tyler Skaggs and company unable to tame the Tigers

It started off well enough. As well as a game could start, in fact.

David Fletcher took a 2-0 fastball from Matthew Boyd and blasted it over 400 feet into the left field seats.

But Tyler Skaggs would immediately give that lead away in the bottom half of the first, assisted by some atrocious defense from Brian Goodwin. With runners on the corners and two outs, Ronny Rodriguez flared a hit into left field just out of the reach of Goodwin. The left fielder inexplicably attempted to dive at the ball, and when the ball rolled by him, both Tigers scored.
