For the first time in All-Star Game history, a player has won the MVP Award in back-to-back seasons.
Mike Trout led off the game with a solo home run to right field and finished the evening 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored. He took home the All-Star Game MVP Award presented by Chevrolet after also doing so last season in Minnesota.
"This experience has been awesome," Trout said after the game. "The fans have been great, everything. I had a blast."
Trout is the first player to win the MVP Award in consecutive seasons, and he is the fifth to win multiple All-Star Game MVP Awards -- joining Willie Mays in 1963 and '68, Steve Garvey in '74 and '78, Gary Carter in '81 and '84, and Cal Ripken in '91, 2001.
