Smith: Special-needs son turns father's anger into unabashed pride - maybe even saving his life in the process

ANAHEIM – That’s his son, the young man who has worked in front of the Angel Stadium Team Store for the past four seasons, greeting fans with a high-five and a very loud song with only one verse, “Let’s go, Angels!”

If you’re an Angels fan, you’ve probably seen Trevor Hendershot, 25, with his bushy brown hair, glasses, braces straightening his smile and a giggle that quickly turns into a full belly laugh. He has Down syndrome.

His father, Bob, guesses you’ve probably heard him “because he sings so loud and loves the Angels so much. How can you not hear him?
