The Angels have made bigger splashes and certainly have spent far more money in recent offseasons than they did in this one. After all, their highest-paid free agent is infielder Cliff Pennington, and they signed him for $3.75 million.
Conversely, Josh Hamilton, who was signed before the 2013 season, will make $28.4 million this season, and the Angels will pay most of it so he can play for the Texas Rangers.
