Rare rain delay pushes back start of Angels game

Wednesday night's game between the Minnesota Twins and the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim has been delayed due to rain on the field.

The game was scheduled to start at 6:07 p.m. PT. If the field is playable, the team said in an announcement, a start time will be determined.

The Angels have been rained out only twice, once in 2015 and once in 1995.

The rain was torrential earlier in the day, with thunder and lightning, but has stopped now. However, water has pooled in places on the field, notably in right field.
