On Sunday afternoon the LA Angels announced the third new coach on Brad Ausmus’ staff as Shawn Wooten was hired as the assistant hitting coach. He will join new hitting coach Jeremy Reed, who Wooten assisted in the minor leagues last season. Doug White has also been hired as the Angels pitching coach.
With all these additions there are also some subtractions from the staff. Pitching coach Charles Nagy as well as hitting coach Dave Hansen and assistant hitting coach Paul Sorrento are all looking for jobs for 2019. This is now clearly Brad Ausmus’ team and there are still some key hires remaining for the Angel staff.
