Angels center fielder Mike Trout is not in the lineup for Tuesday's opener of a three-game series against the Astros in Houston.
No reason was immediately available, though Trout hurt his hand diving on a play in Sunday's game. He stayed in the game and hit a home run.
Daniel Robertson will start in center field and bat ninth.
Shane Victorino, acquired Monday in a trade with the Boston Red Sox, will make his first start for the Angels, batting eighth and playing left field.
