Angels outfielder Mike Trout was named to the All-MLB first team on Wednesday, after another typically great, albeit condensed season in 2020. Trout was joined in the All-MLB first team outfield by Mookie Betts of the Dodgers and Juan Soto of the Nationals.
This is just the second year of the All-MLB honors, in which two teams are chosen, each with nine position players, five starting pitchers, and two relief pitchers. The players were chosen by a panel of “media members, broadcasters, former players and other officials throughout the game” along with fan voting.
Trout, who was also named to the All-MLB first team in the inaugural 2019 selections, was the only Angels player among the finalists, which were announced on Sunday on MLB Network.
