Today’s Mike Trout home run is from August 3, 2017, when the Angels were home to face the Phillies.
This was the second series in his career Trout faced the Phillies, the team for a long time linked to him as a potential free agent landing spot, at lease before Trout re-upped with the Angels through 2030. It’s understandable since Millville High School in New Jersey is just 42 miles from Citizens Bank Park, where Trout and the Angels played the Phillies for a pair of games in 2014.
Trout was just 2-for-9 in that series in Philadelphia, but made up for it back in Anaheim in 2017.
