Mike Trout enters this shortened 2020 season 14 home runs shy of matching Tim Salmon’s franchise record of 299 long balls. Today’s Trout home run brings us back to June 12, 2018, when he climbed up the all-time list.

Brian Downing held the Angels record for most home runs since 1987, until Salmon passed him in 2000. Downing in his 13 years with the Halos his 222 home runs.

Trout entered this Tuesday night game in Seattle tied with Downing for third on the franchise home run list (Garret Anderson is in second place), thanks to hitting two home runs the night before in the series opener.
