The Angels added a pair of outfield reinforcements before their series opener against the Mariners on Tuesday in Seattle, with Jo Adell batting seventh and starting in right field in his major league debut.
When Adell was told Sunday he was getting called up, he said his father was on a work call but he got through first to his mother.
“She jumped 10 feet in the air,” Adell said. “Not only is it me going through, doing all the work and preparing, but my family’s made sacrifices over the years for this.
