Irvine 12-year-old, Girl Scouts' top cookie seller, throws first pitch at Angels game

/ STAFF WRITER

Alanah Juezan, of Irvine, was the top seller of Girl Scout cookies in Orange County this year and got to throw out the first pitch Saturday at the Angels game.

Getting to throw the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most.

Not so for Alanah Juezan, 12, of Irvine, who has become a regular at the annual Girl Scout Night at Angels Stadium – thanks to her cookie-selling prowess – since 2012.

Fifteen minutes before the Angels game began Saturday night, Alanah walked to the pitcher’s mound, turned to face home base and fired the ball at Hector Santiago, who caught it without having to move from his crouch.
