Hot bats help Angels pick up win

Four runs in the first inning set the tone for the Angels as they took down the Royals, 8-3.

Shohei Ohtani drew a walk in the first, one of three he’d have on the night. After he advanced to second on a wild pitch, Anthony Rendon drove him in for the first run of the game. Jared Walsh then walked, putting two runners on base. Max Stassi recorded a hit, bringing in a run to make it 2-0 Halos.

Jose Iglesias brought in another run with a groundout and Juan Lagares singled in a run to give the Angels an early 4-0 lead.
