The Story: The Angels are selling fewer tickets, but don’t mind because the higher prices are leading to increased revenue.
The Monkey Says: Seriously, someone needs to overhaul the media relations department of this franchise because they can’t stop saying tone deaf things. The team’s VP of marketing and ticket sales in no uncertain terms admits that they pretty much don’t care about selling tickets to “the lower end of the socioeconomic ladder” because they don’t spend that much when they come to the park. I get that it is a business, but part of that business is building a fan base and that won’t happen if you deliberately exclude the lower class.
