Final: Angels pull out 5-4 victory in 9th over A's to keep pace in wild-card race

ANAHEIM -- The Angels keep hanging around.

David Murphy’s walk-off single snapped a tie in the Angels’ 5-4 victory over the Oakland A’s on Monday night, their sixth straight victory.

The last three victories have all been by a single run, and all needed to keep pace with the Houston Astros, who have won three in a row and maintain a half-game lead in the wild card race.

The Angels are also just two games behind the Texas Rangers for the American League West lead.

With just six games to play, the Angels are doing all they can to push into the playoffs, despite a tattered bullpen that once again came through to key the victory.
