Dylan Bundy gives up first runs of spring, but looks good in loss to Mariners

After 8.1 innings of keeping opponents off the scoreboard, Dylan Bundy surrendered two runs to the Mariners on Tuesday, giving up a two-run home run to Jose Mermolejos in the second inning of a 3-1 loss at Peoria Stadium.

Despite the scoreless streak coming to an end, the newly-acquired starter once again looked good for the Halos. He completed 4 innings of work, scattering three hits, while striking out five. Bundy now has 16 strikeouts to only one walk over 11.1 innings this spring.

After the game, Bundy said, “I was really happy with the way the ball was coming out of the hand today – and the shape of most of the pitches.
