The Athletics’ Matt Chapman and the Astros’ Alex Bregman are the other AL third baseman in consideration for the award. Chapman is the overwhelming favorite.
Fletcher played 662 innings at third base in 2019 with 5 defensive runs saved and a 5.2 UZR.
Andrelton Simmons also received the nomination.
He has won the award four times.
Mike Trout also was a finalist. Somewhat famously, he has never won the Gold Glove. With tough competition in Kevin Kiermaier and Jackie Bradley Jr.
