The Los Angeles Angels are doing something they have done in 35 years, play an exhibition game in Salt Lake City. The Angels have been affiliated with Salt Lake City since 2001 as the Salt Lake City Bees have been the Triple-A stop for most of the current Angels who have come up through the team’s minor league system. Some of those names over the years have included, Mike Trout, Kole Calhoun, Jered Weaver, Erick Aybar, John Lackey, Garrett Richards, C.J. Cron, Mark Trumbo, Scott Shields, Chone Figgins, and many more.
However, the Los Angeles Angels have not travelled to Salt Lake for an exhibition since the last time the city was an Angels affiliate from 1977-1981 when they were known as the Salt Lake City Angels and before that the Salt Lake City Gulls.
