With the season set to begin later this week, it looks like the Angels could potentially be without their big offseason acquisition to start the season. During Wednesday’s intrasquad game, Anthony Rendon suffered some oblique tightness from a swing in the fourth inning.
“I really don’t have any idea,” Maddon said to media when asked whether or not Rendon would be ready for Friday’s first game . “From his mouth, he says he’s actually pretty good, but you don’t know with something like this. When I hear these things, day to day, you just be patient.
