Angels' Tyler Skaggs makes successful return to Anaheim mound

ANAHEIM – For the first time since a game against the Detroit Tigers on July 25, 2014, Tyler Skaggs stepped onto the mound Saturday at Angel Stadium.

For the first time, it was also out of the bullpen.

In the Freeway Series finale, a 8-1 victory for the Angels and a three-game series sweep of the Dodgers, the left-handed starter continued his recovery from Tommy John surgery that occurred late in that 2014 season.

Appearing in his second game this spring, the left-hander threw three innings of scoreless relief, retired nine of the 10 batters he faced and struck out four of them.
